Oktoberfest special

Get in the mood for Oktoberfest with these pretzels and bratwurst made in your Airfryer!

Servings 4 persons

Ingredients

  • 400 g flour, sifted
  • Dried yeast
  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • 4 tablespoons sugar
  • 20 g baking powder
  • 1 egg yolk, whisked
  • Coarse sea salt
  • 4 brown crusty bread rolls
  • 4 Bratwurst
  • Mustard
  • Sauerkraut

Directions

  • Make a nice dough from the flour, yeast, 2 teaspoons of salt, sugar, baking powder and 200 ml of warm water. If you have a food processor, you can let this do the heavy work. Divide the dough into four equal pieces and shape it into balls. Leave the dough balls to rest for 10 minutes then roll them out into strands in three stages. Leave a break of 10 minutes between each stage. The strands should be the thickness of a pencil.
  • Make a pretzel shape with the strands and boil them in a pan with water and 3 tablespoons of baking powder for one minute. Sprinkle the pretzels with coarse sea salt. Heat your Airfryer to 180 degrees and bake the pretzels for 10 minutes until nice and brown and crispy. It's best to use the grill pan accessory. Pre-cooking them in water with baking powder will let the pretzels break open. Then bake the bread rolls and bratwursts at 200 degrees for 8 minutes.
