Philips set to make life easier and healthier

Philips champions healthy and effortless lifestyle with 2013 consumer range

May 23, 2013

Manila, Philippines – Philips, a leading health and well-being company, is set to unveil a new range of domestic appliances to affirm its commitment of creating meaningful innovations for consumers.

"This new range of Philips domestic appliances has been carefully designed to make lives easier, " explained Ms. Angelia Oh, General Manager for Philips Consumer Lifestyle in the Philippines.

"With our new appliances range, we hope to take our commitment to health and well-being one notch higher. The new domestic appliances include products for floor care, garment care, and kitchen appliances — all designed with the family’s needs in mind."

Healthy food and drinks on the table everyday

Firmly believing that health is wealth, Philips utilized its technology to create kitchen appliances that help consumers prepare nutritious and flavorful meals, and lead healthier lifestyles.
"We intend to dispel the notion that eating healthy is a complicated process. Our new range of kitchen appliances provides individuals and homemakers with a more efficient and effective way to prepare healthy meals," said Ms. Oh.

The new kitchen appliances range include the Soymilk Maker, the Electric Pressure Cooker, and the Jamie Oliver line.

"Soy milk is well-known for its health properties. It is high in protein and calcium, which is instrumental in maintaining bone health, as well as phytoestrogen, that reduces the risk for prostate cancer in men. And with little saturated fat and no cholesterol, soy milk is a nutritious option that would be a great addition to the family’s diet," Ms. Oh noted.

The Philips Soy Milk Maker HD2052 is the first and, so far, only one of its kind in the country today.  With its unique blade and streamlined ribs that allow finer cutting and grinding performance, and 100% food-grade lubricant on the motor shaft seal and bearings, preparing soy-based beverages is now safe and easy at the same time.

The Jamie Oliver line, on the other hand, consists of four kitchen appliances designed in partnership with the renowned chef.

The Philips Jamie Oliver Blender HR2172, features a 600 W motor that offers two speeds and a pulse setting. Preparing batters or smoothies can now be done easily with a high quality 2L glass jar and long lasting, titanium coated 5-star serrated blades.

Another is the Philips Jamie Oliver Food Processor HR7782. This food processor is equipped with an adjustable slicing disc for thin to thick slices (1-7 mm), and a powerful 1000 W motor. It can slice, shred, blend, knead, juice and whip nearly any ingredient in no time.

Sealing in nutrients in your kids' food doesn't have to be a problem with the Philips Jamie Oliver Steamer HD9132. It has a 9L capacity and removable tray bottoms, and comes with a 2.5L bain-marie bowl with scorch free vent holes to avoid burning your fingers. Food can be steamed using the 60-minute timer with ready signal and automatic shut off.

Capping off the Jamie Oliver range is the Philips Jamie Oliver Hand Blender HR1680, which is designed to give you control over your food preparation. This hand blender is simple yet powerful with its 650 W motor with power and turbo buttons. Additionally, a long lasting, titanium coated blade and a ProMix technology balances speed and efficacy to deliver fine and even cuts.

Two models of Philips' electric pressure cookers save plenty of time for homemakers when it comes to cooking, allowing them to focus more on taking care of the family.

Both the Computerized Electric Pressure Cooker HD2136 and the Mechanical Electric Pressure Cooker HD2103 have efficient capabilities to tenderize food in minutes and seal in the taste. They are equipped with an auto pressure release device for safety while cooking, and sensible valves to lock up the upper lid when under high pressure.

Ms. Oh pointed out how one is different from the other. "The difference lies with their modes of operation. The Computerized Electric Pressure Cooker is digital with its easy-to-read large screen display; while the Mechanical Electric Pressure Cooker is operated using a knob."

Simple solutions to a shiny and germ-free floor

For Philips, perfecting the surface is not enough.

"Sanitation and a hygienic environment are crucial to a home, especially when there are kids. These floor care domestic appliances are meant to provide that all-in-one solution for clean and sanitized floors," remarked Ms. Oh.

The Philips Steam Plus Sweep and Steam Cleaner FC7020 is designed to clean both visible and invisible dirt such as germs and bacteria by using steam. The steam itself kills up to 99.9% of germs and bacteria as it sanitizes all kinds of hard floors using water, without any chemicals or leftover residue. It utilizes a precise combination of sweep and steam functions, which can be operated simultaneously or separately. With 1500 W power, it also heats up fast and can be ready for use in less than 30 seconds.

With power being its main feature, the Philips PowerPro Bagless vacuum cleaner utilizes a PowerCyclone technology and an AeroSeal nozzle that allows it to pick up 40% more dust for a better clean. The PowerCyclone allows for separation of dust and air, while the AeroSeal nozzle captures more dust and fluff per stroke. The PowerPro is all business with its 2100 W motor that generates a maximum of 370 W of suction power.

Furthermore, the Philips PerformerPro vacuum cleaner also boasts of high suction power with its AirflowMax technology and 2000 W motor that generates a maximum of 450W of suction. With a TriActive nozzle, the PerformerPro offers a more efficient 3-in-1 cleaning action. A large 5L dust capacity also gives you the luxury to clean the entire home at once without having to re-empty the dust bag.

Fast and easy ironing

"Our garment care range fuses together innovation and simplicity. We believe that pressing clothes should not be a daunting task. With products such as PerfectCare and the Handheld Garment Steamer, removing creases will be effortless," said Ms. Oh.

The Philips PerfectCare Pressurized steam generator does just that with only one universal setting that’s optimized for all types of clothes, even for the most sensitive fabrics. OptimalTemp offers a precise combination of steam and temperature courtesy of a cyclonic steam chamber and an advanced Smart control processor. This means that there are no adjustments necessary no matter what garment you wish to press.

What's more, PerfectCare is capable of six bars of steam pressure and continuous steam that is equivalent to 120 g/min. A Steam Boost also adds more firepower for up to 260 g.

Meanwhile, the Philips Steam & Go GC310 is the answer to pressing clothes while on-the-go.

Light and compact, it is designed for travel convenience.  It fits comfortably inside the luggage, and has the ability to keep up with fast-paced traveler needs. It heats up fast and is ready to use in 45 seconds, making it ideal for quick fixes. Moreover, it releases automatic continuous steam through an electric pump, resulting in quicker and more effective crease removal.

Innovation is the very engine that propels this 2013 range. And according to Ms. Oh, it was all by design.

"We worked hard to understand the behavior, tendencies and the needs of consumers, most especially homemakers. We want to make sure that our products will serve as the solution to everyday home problems -  no matter how simple or basic they may seem."

She also added, "We have always advocated for a healthy and proactive lifestyle when it comes to our products. This range is no different. We want our consumers to get the most out of life by staying healthy."
