There is smoke coming out of the appliance when I switch it on. What should I do?

The appliance may produce some smoke when you use it for the first time. This is normal and there is nothing wrong with your sandwich maker.

When this occurs after you have used the sandwich maker a few times, please check:

• If there are no food particles between the plates
• If there is no fat on the plates

If you have checked the possible causes mentioned above and cleaned the plates, and there is still smoke coming out of the grill, please contact the Philips Consumer Care Center in your country.
