Philips transitions to the future of respiratory care with debut of Trilogy Evo Cardiovascular Catheterization Laboratory

MANILA, PHILIPPINES, – Royal Philips (NYSE: PHG, AEX: PHIA), a global leader in health technology, today announced the launch of Trilogy Evo, the only portable life support ventilator designed to provide consistent therapy and monitoring as care environments or conditions change. Trilogy Evo helps physicians, clinicians and care providers to effectively collaborate and coordinate care by storing patient prescription information in a secure location via the device’s onboard memory. As an integrated platform, Trilogy Evo connects with Care Orchestrator and Care Orchestrator Essence, enabling care teams to download data wirelessly or through a USB, set proactive notifications of changing conditions, and prioritize at-risk patients to help make fast, confident care decisions during a transition of care.

Post-acute care environment transitions and the resulting interruptions in care are often fleeting in time, but their impact can be lasting. Poor transitions lead to unnecessary stress and burden on patients, staff, and caregivers, and can even lead to readmissions. Trilogy Evo was designed to meet the transitional needs of hospital, home, and mobile care. Built on the trusted Trilogy platform, Trilogy Evo also includes AVAPS-AE, a feature that automatically adapts to patients’ changing needs. In fact, 68 percent of surveyed healthcare organizations reported reduced hospital readmissions as a benefit of using Trilogy with AVAPS-AE1.

Clinicians and equipment providers alike are constantly searching for ways to balance clinical outcomes with productivity and cost reduction. We designed Trilogy Evo to smoothly transition patients, devices, and data between environments, conditions, or care providers and ultimately enhance the continuity of efficient and effective care.

Trilogy Evo with Care Orchestrator, Philips cloud-based care management system, provides clinicians with the access and ability to monitor their patients remotely. Designed with interoperability, this portable ventilator allows for advance patient management and helps improve patient care with smoother transitions between care settings.

The efficiency and power of Trilogy Evo with Care Orchestrator online application is also available in a desktop platform using Care Orchestrator Essence. Trilogy Evo with Care Orchestrator Essence delivers actionable patient data directly from Trilogy Evo to care teams, so everyone can work together to make informed clinical decisions.

Trilogy Evo provides therapy for an expanded patient population, delivering enhanced performance in both noninvasive (NIV) and invasive ventilation. Comprehensive advanced NIV therapy modes include AVAPS-AE and mouthpiece ventilation (MPV). Trilogy Evo’s invasive ventilation is available with leak compensation and both single and dual limb circuits, allowing for ventilation of patients 2.5kg and above, from infant, to pediatric, to adult. This allows for patients, clinicians and caregivers to have the peace of mind that comes from using the same device at home as used in the hospital. With a 15-hour battery life and the ability to swap detachable batteries without pausing therapy when the internal battery is charged, Trilogy Evo expands on Philips commitment and leadership to provide patients with the freedom to move and ability to receive efficient care in and out of the hospital.
