The steam in my Philips steam generator iron gets weaker
If the steam rate of your Philips steam generator iron is not as good as expected, please check here to find out what could be causing the problem.
There is a steam delay when pressing the steam button
A short delay is normal:
Press and release the steam button: generates steam after 2 seconds
Press and hold the steam button: produces steam at a continuously high level You will hear a pumping sound that indicates that water is being pumped into the heating element to generate steam.
Press the steam button twice quickly: switches the iron to auto steam. Press the steam button again to stop steaming.
A few seconds' delay is normal
When the appliance draws water from the tank, the cool water lowers the steam pressure for a few seconds. This is normal behaviour for any steam generator iron. If the issue persists for more than a few seconds, please descale the appliance. Find all descaling information for your Philips iron here.
Limescale may have built up in the appliance, preventing it from steaming as it should
